God the Father, in this very hour, is continuing to release apostles, prophets, teachers, shepherds, and evangelists for the “equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the UNITY OF THE FAITH, and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12-13)
Several weeks ago, I was in prayer seeking the Father for the future of America and also bringing my own personal desires before Him to see a spirit of revival and reformation released upon our nation. As I sat in silence and waited, what I saw and heard next not only startled me, but deeply grieved my heart.
I received a vision of a battlefield in America. Thousands of generals and leaders had gathered together. To my great dismay, these men and women were not gathered to fight against the enemy of their souls, they had assembled to make war on one another. I then heard the Father say, “A rival spirit will precede the revival spirit that will be released upon America.”
Broken hearted, I began to inquire of the Father about the meaning of this “rival spirit”.
He said to me, “ As it was in the days of King Saul and young David, so it is in America today.” When I heard the Father say this, I felt deeply stirred to go back and specifically read 1 Samuel 18:1-19
As I began to read verse six, the Holy Spirit opened up my eyes to the days ahead and this rival spirit coming upon the American Church.
“And it happened as they were coming, when David returned from killing the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and musical instruments. And the women sang as they played, and said, ‘Saul has slain his thousands, but David his ten thousands.’ Then Saul became very angry for this saying displeased him; and he said, ‘They have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me they have ascribed thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?’ And Saul looked at David with suspicion from that day on.”
I prophesy by the Spirit of God that the strength and foundation of the rival spirit that will precede the revival spirit in America will be found in jealousy and insecurity. It’s vitally important to understand that jealousy has the ability and power to totally consume a leader in such a way that it becomes more important to eliminate perceived enemies such as other leaders and ministries than to actually advance the kingdom of God and win the lost to Christ.
As the masses in Israel began to ascribe honor to David for defeating Goliath and the Philistine army, the insecurity and jealousy of King Saul began to consume him. I believe that from that day forward, Saul became more concerned with destroying the life of young David than battling the real enemies of God. I foresee in America, that because of the insecurity and jealousy of leaders, many will become more consumed with tearing down one another’s ministries and releasing judgment, than actually advancing the kingdom of God and bringing in an end time harvest of souls.
King Saul’s orphan heart and the unaddressed issues of insecurity and jealousy made it impossible for him to rejoice at young David’s victory over the giant Goliath.
Can you imagine if King Saul had found his security in Yahweh his God and saw his Kingship as an opportunity to father David rather than act like an orphan? I want to propose to you that if Saul would have found his identity and security in the Lord, He would have exceedingly rejoiced at the cries of of the Israelites when they said, “Saul has slain his thousands, but David his ten thousands.” A true father’s heart in that moment would have not only lept with joy, but given his son the kingdom out of love and recognition of the Father blessing on young David’s life. Leaders that carry the Father’s heart are seeking and longing to give away the keys and secrets of God’s kingdom, while orphan hearted leaders who are consumed with jealousy and insecurity are continually looking for opportunities to build their own kingdom.
Christian Leaders who carry the Father’s heart rejoice at not only the success of leaders, but with a glad heart rejoice when others surpass their own personal achievements. The rival spirit that will precede the revival spirit coming to America will seek to exploit the unaddressed issues of insecurity and jealousy among leaders and use them as weapons against other leaders, particularly ones that are young and bearing fruit.
In the midst of this coming turmoil among church leadership, God the Father is looking for leaders who have served him many years to rejoice and reach out to young leaders and the success that they are currently enjoying. Too many orphan hearted fathers and mothers in this nation, like King Saul, are looking suspiciously at the blessing and favor of God upon the next generation of leaders rather than seeking to bless what God is blessing.
We must repent and put an end to this now!
We desperately need to get before our Heavenly Father as leaders and ask Him to reveal any insecurity and jealousy that is hiding within our hearts. One question that can be asked to identify insecurity and jealousy in our hearts as leaders is : How would I respond if a revival started in my town and it wasn’t at the church God has given me? Another question that could be asked is: When I hear about the success and fruit of another ministry or leader, do I immediately begin to look upon them with suspicion and question their motives and heart?
If the answers to these questions is yes, we need to hear the Father’s call to repent today. There is an unnecessary blood bath coming to the American Church before a spirit of revival is released because of the jealousy and insecurity of leaders. I believe that if we will get on our knees and begin to repent of our sins, we can put a stop to this impending conflict that will not only waste precious time, but cause incredible division among the people of God.
The revival spirit that the Father wants to release upon America will seek to unify the body of Christ while the rival spirit that will precede it will look to bring division, envy, jealousy, strife, and insecurity to church leadership.
May we hear the call to battle today: Not to make war on one another because of our insecurity and jealousy as leaders, but to make war on the jealousy and insecurity that is hiding deep within our hearts toward others that are experiencing success and bearing much fruit.
Beware of the rival spirit in this hour. It’s hindering Godly alliances and connections in cities, states, and in this nation. It can only attach itself to what we refuse to remove and repent of as believers in Jesus Christ, namely jealousy and insecurity.
***The rival spirit is so rampant in this hour, that it not only will precede the revival spirit, but it also has the capability of aborting the revival spirit that has already been released. There are current revivals going on in America right now and the rival spirit is seeking to bring division between leaders desiring revival and it will accomplish this through insecurity and jealousy.
Father, we receive your warning, correction, and call to repentance today. In Jesus Name.
